UK Commission on Bereavement: Launch of Commission’s findings and report – live-stream

Where: Virtual live-stream

Cost: Free

*Please note this is a rescheduled event originally scheduled for September 12, 2022.

At this event, The UK Commission on Bereavement will launch it’s report that will outline the findings of its evidence and review of bereavement over the past 5 years. The events following the sad death of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II have sparked important conversations around grief and mourning and we know it is crucial to share the Commission’s findings and to continue this national conversation about bereavement.

This major event will be hosted by the chair of the commission Bishop Sarah The Right Reverend and Right Honourable Dame Sarah Mullally DBE, the Bishop of London, along with other commissioners.

There has been a lot of focus on how the UK will deliver an economic recovery from the pandemic, but much less about how society will recover – including the response to the pandemic as a mass bereavement event.

Since June 2021 the UK Commission on Bereavement has been reviewing a board range of areas including:

This has been achieved through a partnership with a number of UK charities led by Marie Curie, Independent Age, National Bereavement Alliance, Cruse Bereavement Support, Childhood Bereavement Network and Centre for Mental Health, along with researchers from University of Bristol who led an major academic study on the issue.

The event will bring together academics, policy-makers, influencers and operational and regulatory partners to explore and hear for the first time the principles and policy recommendations of the UK Commission on Bereavement.

Register for free for this major event which will help shape the future of Bereavement in the UK.

The workshop sessions happening at Church House will be in person only and will not be part of the live streamed event.
