Death Cafés provide a safe and welcoming space to talk about a subject that many people find difficult. Although people might imagine that attending a Death Café will be a morbid or depressing experience, most find it enlivening and comforting to connect with people on this very important aspect of existence.

There are other Death Cafés you’re welcome to join, all taking place as part of Good Grief Bristol.

Conversations are decided on the day by the people who attend. People often feel a sense of relief and of community, and value sharing their ideas and being heard without judgement. Join this session to find out more about Death Cafés, to talk about your own grief or simply to listen.

This workshop will be led by Mireille Hayden. She’s a Chartered Health Psychologist who founded Gentle Dusk, a socially-minded partnership that works to lift taboos around death and bereavement and to raise awareness of the importance of end of life care planning.

Mireille provides expert input into areas relating to death on TV and in print and has featured on BBC News Worldwide, Sky News and BBC Radio. She works in partnership with Memorial Woodlands in Bristol to provide free training to professionals around death, dying and bereavement.

Good Grief online events are all free to attend.
