Good Grief Weston (IN PERSON) – All of Us Strangers
About the event
This event will be held in person in Weston-super-Mare.
Written and directed by Andrew Haigh, starring Andrew Scott, Paul Mescal, Jamie Bell and Claire Foy
The BFI called All of Us Strangers ‘a glorious magic-realist meditation on grief… This time-slipping film about a middle-aged man struggling to write about his parents is a deeply affecting, supernatural exploration of the profound consequences of grief and structural homophobia’.
Dr Jimmy Hay, a University of Bristol Senior Lecturer who specialises grief in cinema, will introduce this ‘emotionally wrenching masterpiece’. After the screening, he will give his own response to the exploration of grief in All of Us Strangers, before opening up the floor for discussion.

“It’s a remarkable achievement – a raw and potent piece of storytelling that grabs you by the heart and doesn’t let go.” [5 stars] Guardian
