The humble kitchen table is often a hub for gathering together in the wake of a bereavement. It’s a backdrop for sadness, laughter and night-long conversations about loved ones who’ve died. It’s where chairs remain empty at mealtimes – a poignant reminder of those who are no longer with us.
Food can help us connect with lost loved ones, through their living legacies of handed down recipes and the memories of special meals cooked and shared together.
Hosted by Bake-Off’s Mel Giedroyc, our special guests will include British-Jamaican chef and author Levi Roots, Ready, Steady, Cook’s Romy Gill MBE, award-winning author Nikesh Shukla andYouTube star Danny Malin of Rate-My-Takeaway fame.
Cooking up our guests dishes in the Memory Kitchen we have food writer Barney Desmazery and chef Charlie Urry.
In The Memory Kitchen we gather around the table to remember lost loved ones, share family recipes and discuss the role of food in grief.
This event is a pre-recorded session from a previous Good Grief event. This event will be available to watch on-demand on Saturday, October 29th, 2022. There is no live Q+A for this event.
