Anna Millais is an artist and bibliophile based in Mortlake, South-West London. She studied MA Illustration at Camberwell College of Arts and graduated with Distinction.
Whilst studying for her MA she was long-listed for the Folio Society & House of Illustration Book Illustration Competition with her entries for The Selected Adventures & Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes, and subsequently was commissioned by the Folio Society to provide illustration for The Complete Short Stories by Philip K. Dick.
Anna describes herself as ‘unwaveringly enthralled’ by the human face and loves experimenting with portraiture and the subtleties of expression. She draws mainly in pencil and ink, combining fine detail with looser, more expressive marks, working predominantly by hand.
