Dr Carolyn Blair is an experienced mixed-methods research fellow at the School of Nursing and Midwifery in Queen’s University Belfast (QUB) working with Prof Joanne Reid and Dr Tracey McConnell.

Carolyn is the lead researcher on a phenomenological study exploring the experience of cachexia for individuals with end stage renal disease and a QUB/Marie Curie project exploring loneliness in terminal illness.

Carolyn is also currently leading work related to developing an evidence and theory based multimodal integrative intervention for the management of renal cachexia and is currently funded to conduct a Cochrane systematic review on Multimodal interventions for cachexia management.

Other research interests include the design of psychosocial support interventions, Personal, Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) in research, mindfulness based interventions and theory of change approaches.
