Dr Yakubu Salifu is a lecturer in palliative care and early career researcher at the International Observatory on End of Life Care (IOELC), Lancaster University, UK. Dr Salifu’s methodological expertise is in qualitative research and has research interests in palliative and end-of-life care with focus in inequalities, ethnicity, masculinity, stigma, and intersectionality. He is also passionate about research in health resource-limited settings, and hardly reached populations.  

His research is making significant international impact. His published research on men living with advanced prostate cancer birthed COMPASS Ghana, a charity registered in the UK (Reg No: 1199633) and Ghana. Dr Salifu is the Chief Executive of COMPASS Ghanaa charity that aim to fill service gap by enabling access to compassionate palliative and end-of-life care in partnership with and healthcare facilities, and communities in Ghana leveraging on the social support system.
