Dr Gemma Clarke is a Marie Curie Senior Research Fellow based at St Gemma’s Academic Unit of Palliative Care at the University of Leeds, and at Marie Curie Hospice Bradford. She is a social scientist with interests in palliative care, pain management, long-term cancer survivorship and issues around gender and ethnicity. Current projects include: a qualitative interview study of access to palliative care in South Asian communities across Yorkshire and the Midlands, a data study of ethnicity, malignant/non-malignant disease and referrals to palliative care using a large scale dataset from de-identified primary care patient records.
