Facilitator Jacqui Parkinson

Jacqui Parkinson

Manchester-born Jacqui Parkinson is an artist who uses textiles as her medium. Before moving to Devon she taught drama and ran an arts centre near Wimbledon. Today she works on a huge scale, in total contrast to the exhibition here at Good Grief Bristol.

Jacqui’s Christian faith underpins all her work and the Bible is often the inspiration for her projects. Her work has been on display in most cathedrals in the UK, most recently touring her Threads through Revelation. This massive sequence comprises 14 huge panels which reimagine the visions in Revelation, the last book in the Bible.

Threads through Revelation is believed to be the largest textile project by a single artist and took more than ten million stitches. It was seen by more than 500,000 visitors. Her next project will be almost as large and will start touring in 2021.
