Katherine Bristowe is the Herbert Dunhill Lecturer at the Cicely Saunders Institute of Palliative Care, Policy & Rehabilitation, King’s College London. She is a mixed methodologist with a background in sociolinguistics and health communication research.

Her programme of research focuses on widening access to palliative and bereavement care for people from minoritised and marginalised groups including the LGBT+ communities, and improving communication between health and social care professionals and service users.

As a qualitative methodologist she contributes to a diverse portfolio of research studies in the context of: serious and advanced illness, bereavement, HIV, COPD, frailty, breathlessness, development and evaluation of complex interventions to improve health and social care, development and validation of person centred outcome measures, and delivery of person-centred care.
