Liz Gleeson
Liz Gleeson is an experienced psychotherapist and educator in the field of grief and loss. She offers workshops and training for a variety of organisations and is a coordinator for the MSc Bereavement Studies with RCSI and the Irish Hospice Foundation.
In 2015, Liz qualified as an open floor movement therapist, an approach that she uses to inform her clinical practice. She has a particular interest in a body-based approach to supporting the grieving process. Liz has completed core skills training in mindful self compassion with Dr. Chris Germer.
With an MA in Dramatherapy, an MSc in Bereavement Studies and completing an MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy in 2020, Liz’s approach is well grounded in theory and practice.
Liz is the curator of the podcast Shapes Of Grief, which is a recommended resource in universities and colleges internationally, as an excellent resource for grief education. She offers one-to-one therapeutic support for those going through grief of any kind from her private practice in Greystones and online. She also facilitates a number of bereavement groups.
Liz is one of a few therapists trained in Complicated Grief Therapy and offers this via Skype to people in Ireland and abroad. In 2021, Liz won a bursary from Limerick Institute of Technology and will soon begin a PhD exploring grief education for healthcare professionals.
