Marie Poole
Marie Poole is a qualitative researcher at Newcastle University. In the last 15 years, she has primarily been involved in dementia care research. This has included the study of end of life for people living with dementia, their families and health and social care professionals.
Marie specialises in conducting research which explores sensitive subject areas with people who may need additional support to participate. She believes that capturing the authentic views and experiences of people who access services is essential to identify good practice and areas for improvement.
She is interested in approaches which support agency and enable people who are often excluded from research to participate, and is committed to finding innovative ways to share research findings in accessible ways.
