Rob Stone

Professor Rob Stone became Chair of European Film at the University of Birmingham in 2012.His research and publications focus on World Cinema with particular emphasis on European and American Independent Cinema. He has also published extensively on Spanish, Basqueand Cuban cinema. He is the co-director B-Film: The Birmingham Centre for Film Studies, and his documentaries video essays exploring empathetic aesthetics–including most recently Some Stories(2019)–have played at film festivals and conferences across the world.
