Stephen Regel OBE
Stephen Regel is a trauma therapist and trainer, with four decades of experience working with trauma survivors in the NHS and other settings. Founder of the Centre for Trauma, Resilience & Growth (CTRG), he developed the first academic Trauma Studies programme in the UK. Passionate about supporting individuals and families affected by trauma and traumatic loss, his clinical work has focused on early interventions wherever possible for those affected by such events. The book he co-authored with Prof. Stephen Joseph, Post-Traumatic Stress, offers fresh insights into traumatic bereavement and is essential reading for sufferers of post-traumatic stress, and their families and friends. He was awarded an OBE in 2013 for services to trauma victims.
He is a trustee and mental health advisor for Hostage International, a trustee and training committee member for Children and War (CAW) UK and a member of the mental health panel of the National Emergencies Trust. An accredited CBT therapist with the BABCP, he currently volunteers with the Therapeutic Services Team at Treetops Hospice Derby, where he works with adults affected by traumatic loss.
