Grief Academy 2025: When Grief Is Complicated
The Grief Academy is back in February with a brand new seven-week online course: When Grief is Complicated!
In this course, we will look at some of the ways grief can become complicated, and how and why we can feel ‘stuck’ in grief.
The course will explore:
- What is the relationship between grief and trauma?
- What is happening in our body and brain when we feel ‘stuck’ in grief?
- How do guilt, anger and unfinished business complicate the grieving process?
- Why do some people experience more intense, persistent grief than others?
- Can grieving be a form of learning?
- How can we remain connected to those who have died, while also making space for new relationships and possibilities?
We are really excited to be running this course on Teachable. For just £25, you will have access to seven live sessions — each with a Q&A. The recordings will be available to watch (and rewatch!) for six months, and we will also share reading lists and relevant video content to support the webinars and workshops. And Teachable also has a discussion forum for all course members to share thoughts and reflections.
The course will feature a host of grief experts, including leading psychotherapists, artists and people who have experienced bereavement. Look out for familiar faces like Julia Samuel, Robert Neimeyer and Gary Andrews — as well as people who are new to Good Grief, such as renowned neuroscientist Mary-Frances O’Connor, trauma expert Stephen Regel and more.
