Take Care Over the Holidays
Thank you so much for being part of our Good Grief community this year! We so appreciate you participating in our virtual events, giving feedback and continuing to support our work. We hope that our events have provided solace, information and opportunities to reflect and connect to others in our community.
The holiday season can be really tough when we are grieving. Festive traditions often bring back memories of our loved ones and make us ever more aware of their absence. Meanwhile, it can feel like everyone else is surrounded by their families and are celebrating their love and togetherness in a way that feels very out of reach.
If you are looking for ways to ‘get through’ or honour someone who has died this holiday season, you might like to watch this conversation between the ever-wise and warm Julia Samuel and Amber Jeffrey.
You can also visit The Grief Channel on YouTube to find hundreds of hours of Good Grief talks free and accessible whenever you need them. This has been a new venture for us this year and we’re adding new content all the time. Please do subscribe and spread the word to other people who might benefit. Scroll down to see what we’ve uploaded this month.
Finally, thank you to everyone who has donated to our Good Grief Festival JustGiving page to help keep future events free to attend. If you would like to make a donation, scroll to the bottom of this email.
Looking ahead, please put February 25th in your diaries for our first virtual live event of 2023! Julia Samuel will be joined by special guest Cariad Lloyd (from the Griefcast podcast) for what is sure to be an illuminating and generous discussion. We also have lots more content planned as we continue our programme of regular mini festivals. Stay tuned to register in the new year!
And with that, please take care over the holiday season. We hope you have time to relax and enjoy some quiet time in what can be a hectic period. We look forward to being back in touch with you in the new year.
With warm wishes,
Lucy, Lesel, Aisling + the Good Grief team x
